The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed members and aspirants participating in its ongoing reorganisation to limit the size of campaign posters and banners and restrict their display to designated locations.
In a press release dated October 9, 2026, the party said the directive followed concerns over the mounting of oversized campaign posters and banners at various locations across the country.
The party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC), at a meeting on Tuesday, October 6, deliberated on the issue, citing the need to maintain order and discipline and ensure a level playing field for all aspirants.
Under the new directive, campaign posters and banners must not exceed five feet in width and eight feet in height.
The party has also restricted the display of campaign materials to constituency offices, regional offices and election grounds.
Members and aspirants whose campaign posters and banners do not comply with the directive have been given five days, effective October 10, to make the necessary adjustments.
The FEC said the directive was also intended to reflect the party’s values, stressing that the NDC, as the governing party, must lead by example through modesty and restraint.
It added that the party must avoid displays of extravagance, or the perception of it, that could be inconsistent with its values and the expectations of Ghanaians.
While acknowledging the enthusiasm and commitment of members and aspirants, the party warned that any wilful disregard of the directive would attract appropriate disciplinary action.
Such action, it said, would be in accordance with the party’s constitution, electoral guidelines and other applicable directives.
