A 22-year-old man has been arrested by the Western Central Regional Police Command in connection with the murder of a 46-year-old woman, Juliana Boata, at Nana Ango Hill in Tarkwa.
According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect attacked Boata with a wooden plank before strangling her, resulting in her death.
In a statement dated Thursday, October 29, 2026, the police said the incident occurred on Monday, October 26, after the suspect reportedly complained of illness and visited a hospital for treatment at about 12:30 p.m.
He later returned home, where the deceased was reportedly the person who remained in the house.
The police said the suspect had expressed dissatisfaction with his father, alleging that he had not received the same level of care and support as his other siblings.
“Following that, the suspect is said to have attacked the deceased in her room with a wooden plank, struck her on the head, and strangled her, resulting in her death,” the statement said.
The body of the deceased has since been conveyed to the Tarkwa Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The Western Central Regional Police Command said investigations were ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killing.
