The Ambassador of France to Ghana, Her Excellency Diarra Dimé-Labille, has delivered a stirring message of belief to Ghana’s Black Challenge, backing the team’s World Cup ambitions while calling for the preparation and support needed to turn individual talent into collective success.

In her remarks during the camp visit identified as part of Gold Fields Ghana Limited’s engagement with the team, the Ambassador praised the players’ daily commitment and described their contribution as a source of national pride.

“I think that Ghana can be proud of the team,” the Ambassador said.

The message combined encouragement with a practical challenge: athletes should be able to concentrate on competing, while the difficulties surrounding training and travel are addressed.

Reflecting on concerns raised about the team’s preparations, the Ambassador stressed that even exceptional players need time to train together. The lesson, drawn partly from French football, was that individual ability delivers its greatest value when it becomes teamwork.

“You can have a lot of very talented players individually, but you absolutely need to train the team together,” the Ambassador said, with repetitions removed for clarity.

For the Black Challenge, that was an endorsement of both their potential and their need for organised preparation. The Ambassador urged that the problems discussed be resolved so that the players’ attention could remain on their World Cup mission.

The visit also brought an optimistic prediction: “I am going to bet that you are going to be the next World Cup champion.”

The Ambassador wished the team well, expressed interest in attending a future match in Accra, and added a warm diplomatic touch: if Ghana were to face France, both teams would receive support.

Beyond the tournament, the address placed disability inclusion at the centre of the relationship between France and Ghana. The Ambassador said the two countries could learn from each other’s experiences in building societies where people with disabilities are fully included.

“We can learn from Ghana, and Ghana can also learn from what we are doing in France to make our society more inclusive,” the Ambassador said.

Turning to National Paralympic Committee of Ghana President Samson Deen, the Ambassador thanked and commended him for his commitment to Paralympic sport and for advancing the inclusion of people with disabilities.

The remarks recognised a purpose that reaches beyond results: sport can affirm that people with disabilities are an important part of society, with experience and ability from which others can learn.

In a message of appreciation responding to the Ambassador’s remarks, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana and the African Paralympic Committee, Samson Deen, welcomed her encouragement and commitment to inclusion.

“Your Excellency, on behalf of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana and the Black Challenge, I sincerely thank you for your encouraging words and your commitment to a more inclusive society,” Deen stated.

“Your message recognises both our players’ talent and the practical support they need to succeed. Individual brilliance must be strengthened through proper preparation, teamwork and an environment that allows athletes to concentrate on representing Ghana with pride.”

He described the players as ambassadors whose abilities and achievements deserve recognition and equal opportunity.

“These players are ambassadors of determination and possibility. They deserve recognition for their abilities, respect for their achievements and equal opportunities to pursue excellence,” he said.

Deen also welcomed the prospect of cooperation between Ghana and France that could create lasting opportunities for athletes.

“We welcome your invitation for Ghana and France to learn from each other. We would be pleased to explore practical cooperation in inclusive sport, coaching and athlete development, creating opportunities that endure beyond this World Cup.”

“Thank you for believing in the Black Challenge. Your encouragement strengthens our resolve to prepare, compete and make Ghana proud,” he added.

For the Black Challenge, the message was one of confidence backed by a clear call to action. Talent deserves preparation. Ambition deserves support. And Ghana’s players deserve the opportunity to pursue their World Cup dream together.
