Some aggrieved workers of the defunct airline company Antrak Air have called on the National Labour Commission to expeditiously deal with a petition before the commission.
The aggrieved workers some months back petitioned the Commission over unpaid salaries and other entitlements.
According to the workers, on 10th June 2015 they got a memo that the company was suspending flight operations for three months to restructure.
Prior to the said suspension, the workers claim they were owed over 12 months transport allowance.
According to the workers, the NLC is frustrating them with several postponements. They noted that life is becoming unbearable since they have become jobless.
Gilbert McCaurey, the leader of the aggrieved workers, in an interview said prior to the last meeting the secretary of the NLC mentioned he had to give a report to the executive director of the labour commission.
“It was confirmed he had gotten the said briefing. Yet at today’s hearing which is supposed to be the final one the secretary still claims Antrak is yet to appear hence would brief his boss for a final hearing in two weeks.
“We have even tried to meet the CEO of Antrak Air Alhaji Asumah Banda but we have not been successful,” Mr. McCaurey revealed.
