Asuogyaman calls on Osei-Ameyaw to contest Parliament 2020

Some organisations in the Asuogyaman constituency are calling on the boss of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) Kofi Osei-Ameyaw to contest the 2020 Parliamentary polls.

They include the Asuogyaman Development Foundation, Asuogyaman Devoted Ladies and a group of people of Asuogyaman Constituency.

Over the weekend, posters and calendars were circulated by the Asuogyaman people in the Constituency putting enormous pressure on Mr. Osei-Ameyaw to consider coming again as their MP.

Osei-Ameyaw was the Member of Parliament for the Asuogyaman Constituency in 2004-2008 and 2012-2016 on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He is the only lawmaker who has won the Parliamentary Seat for the NPP on two occasions. The Asuogyaman Constituency is the traditional stronghold of the NDC.

NPP has never won a Presidential Election in the Asuogyaman Constituency since 1992.  NDC has won the Asuogyaman Parliamentary Seat on five occasions since 1992.

Osei-Ameyaw with the ethnic background of Ewe and Akwamu always favour his candidature considering the heterogeneous nature of the Asuogyaman Constituency in terms of Ethnic representations.

He performed creditably well during his reign as the Member of Parliament for the Asuogyaman Constituency.

“We are with this statement calling on Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw to come again and contest the 2020 Parliamentary Election in the Asuogyaman Constituency,” Stephen Gyamfi, Ag. Executive Secretary, Asuogyaman Development Foundation said.
