Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, Presidential Advisor on Health, announced a substantial donation to support ongoing healthcare improvements at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

On behalf of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Nsiah-Asare presented GHC 200,000 towards the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project.”

In additionally, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare the former CEO KATH personally donated an additional GHC 50,000, bringing the total contribution to GHC 250,000.

The “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” focuses on critical facility upgrades and medical equipment enhancements at KATH, one of Ghana’s major healthcare institutions.

With its extensive patient load and crucial role in providing care across the Ashanti Region and beyond, the hospital requires ongoing support to maintain and improve service quality.

In a statement during the presentation ceremony, Dr. Nsiah-Asare highlighted the Vice President’s unwavering commitment to Ghana’s healthcare development. “Dr. Bawumia’s support for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital reflects his dedication to seeing sustainable improvements in healthcare across the country,” he said.

He also noted that the donation underscores the government’s broader mission to strengthen healthcare infrastructure nationwide.

This donation arrives at a crucial time, as KATH has faced challenges in expanding services due to limited resources and increasing patient numbers.

The Hospital Chief executive of the Hospital, Prof. Otchere Addai Mensah expressed deep appreciation for the Vice President’s contributions, noting that the funds would directly impact the hospital’s ability to deliver essential medical services, reduce patient wait times, and upgrade vital facilities.

Nsiah-Asare emphasized the importance of private and public sector partnerships in achieving sustainable healthcare development.

He called on other well-meaning Ghanaians, businesses, and philanthropic organizations to contribute to healthcare improvement projects, especially in underserved regions.

With the Vice President’s contributions, KATH can now move forward on essential projects that promise to deliver lasting benefits for patients and the surrounding communities.

This act of generosity not only provides immediate financial support but also sends a message of solidarity and commitment to addressing healthcare needs in Ghana.

He further said the next NPP government will take over the heal Komfo Anokye project if Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is elected President after the 7th December general election.
