The Chief Justice of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah will today (January 21, 1023, launch an innovative and life-changing co-operative financial entity to be known and called Judicial Service Staff Co-operative Fund (JUSCOFund).

The JUSCOFund is an innovation of Afotey-Led JUSAG designed to promote thrift among all members of staff of the Judicial Service and the Judiciary.

JUSAG President, Mr. Samuel Afotey Otu made this known to Conference at Ho in August 2022 to establish a financial co-operative. It was therefore, not surprising that he quickly put together a committee of financial experts to do further research and draft the Bye-Laws and policies that will govern the operation of the JUSCOFund.

Having worked vigorously to secure a permanent office for the JUSCOFund and the necessary regulatory approval, Mr. Afotey and his team are now days close to achieving the biggest of the visions with the launch of the JUSCOFund today.

Beneficiaries

The JUSCOFund is opened to all members of staff including non-JUSAG members, judges, and magistrates and affiliates or persons concerned with the administration of justice.

Membership is by acquisition of minimum share and monthly contribution. The Fund is democratically managed and surpluses from the Fund are shared to members based on their share capital and monthly contributions.

Members of the JUSCOFund will also be able to easily access loan at an interest rate of as low as 15%. Amount of loan accessible depends on a member’s monthly contribution and affordability.

Members of staff across the country are already anxiously waiting to take advantage of the fund to save, invest and profit from the Fund. Over 500 forms are been completed across various regions of the country with many yearning to join.

The launch of the JUSCOFund on Tuesday by the Chief Justice will be graced by some members of the Judicial Council, the Judicial Secretary, Justices of the Superior and Lower Courts, Directors, present and former executives of JUSAG, the Registrar of Co-operatives.

Invitation has also been extended to the Executives of SSAJUG as the JUSCOFund is opened to all and JUSAG is, and has always been there for the welfare of all staff.
