The Accra Circuit Court 3, presided over by Her Honour Susana Eduful, has struck out a tax fraud case brought against Collins Amoah, citing lack of locus standi and evidentiary basis. This ruling according to Mr. Amoah does not only exonerate him but also exposes a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation for political reasons.
The claims, published by Graphic Online and other news outlets on January 29, 2025, suggest that a GH¢800,000 fraud case has been brought against him, and a bench warrant issued for his arrest. However, Amoah vehemently denies all accusations, dismissing them as politically motivated.
Mr. Amoah, along with a trader named Solomon Okuley, was accused of defrauding a businessman named Mr. Ababio by promising to use their political connections to clear his tax debt with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
According to Mr. Amoah, anyone with discernment could have seen this was an orchestrated effort by adversaries to deploy mala fides (bad faith) litigation as a weapon of character assassination.
Mr. Amoah further argued his vindication is a victory not just for him, but for the rule of law. Indeed the truth, no matter how delayed, will always prevail over deception.
According to his team the development should put steel in his spine to continue to serve, impact more lives and accelerate his efforts to earn the blessings of the people of Ablekuma Central.
