Former President John Mahama has donated Personal Protection Equipments to the Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Zujung central cemetery as part of his contribution towards the national fight against Covid-19.
The items included, gumboots, overall surgical gowns, N95 face masks and goggles. The items were presented on behalf of the former president by Prosper Akanbong, former CEO of the Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Northern regional NDC chairman, Alhaji Mobila.
Dr. Prosper Akanbong reiterated Mr. Mahama’s readiness in supporting the country’s efforts in combating the global pandemic.
He noted that the Technical team put together by the former president is active and advising him as well as proposing ideas to the coronavirus fight.
Receiving the items, CEO of Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. Abdul Karim Mumuni commended the NDC flagbearer for his generosity. He said the hospital as the only referral hospital serving Northern Ghana needs the support of the public in this trying times to be able to execute its professional duties properly.
He assured the items will be put to good use.
Some of the donations have been sent to “yellow yellow” drivers, tipper truck drivers as well as market women.
