The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has dismissed reports suggesting a new registration exercise for vehicles already registered.
Contrary to circulating claims that vehicle owners must re-register vehicles registered before 2023, Kafui Semevo, Media Director for Driver Training, Testing, and Licensing, clarified that only vehicles previously registered manually are required to complete the digital onboarding process.
This is part of the Authority’s ongoing rollout of a fully digital system.
Speaking on the development, DVLA CEO Julius Neequaye Kotey announced that Ghanaians living abroad will soon be able to access DVLA services.
Following approval from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the services will initially be available in Germany, Canada, and the United Kingdom, alongside a number of new outlets set to be commissioned locally.
