Body parts believed to belong to Samuel Yeboah, a 45-year-old civilian employee of the Ghana Armed Forces stationed at Burma Camp, have been discovered in a bush at Sokode-Juaso in the Abuakwa North Municipality, ten days after he was reported missing.

According to the family, the late Yeboah visited them on November 15, 2025, when he was informed by a young woman about a misunderstanding involving her mobile phone.

She reportedly attempted to sell the phone to a man but later changed her mind.

The man, however, allegedly refused to return the device. Yeboah proceeded to the suspect’s house around 6:00 p.m. to retrieve the phone, but the encounter escalated into a heated confrontation.

He reportedly attempted to arrest the suspect and hand him over to the police.

During the altercation, the suspect’s father—described as a hunter—allegedly rushed into the room, pulled a gun, and shot Yeboah before butchering him multiple times.
After the gruesome killing, the two suspects purportedly dismembered the body and buried the parts at different locations in the bush.

Police later arrested the father, but his son fled and is currently on the run. Despite being in custody, the father allegedly refused to disclose the whereabouts of the body parts.

According to Nana Kwadwo Opare, Gyaasehene of Sokode-Juaso, traditional rituals were performed on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, which led to the discovery of the decomposed body parts that afternoon.

“My brother visited as at Sokode Dwaso. There is a lady who reported a case to police station that someone has taken his phone, so she informed the victim and he went to the house to arrest the suspect but the father of the suspect who is a hunter entered the room to pull a gun and fired at his back, took machetes and inflicted cutlass wounds on him killing him instantly,” Nana Kwadwo Opare explained.

He added, “the father failed to disclose the whereabouts of the body to the place at Akyem Tafo district police command . He was taken to Eastern Regional Police headquarters but still refused to speak. So we went to our hometown(Akupem) to perform rituals and we were told to search for the body today in the bush and just this afternoon, we found the thigh of the deceased somewhere in the bush, and the other parts of the body also buried Somewhere”.

Crime scene investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service have since visited the scene to take vital inventories.

Efforts are underway to arrest the fugitive, while the suspect in custody is expected to be arraigned before court on a preliminary charge.
