The Esports Association Ghana has officially received an invitation to participate in the highly anticipated Esports World Cup 2025, scheduled to take place from July 8 to August 24, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The invitation was extended by the Esports World Cup Foundation and the Saudi Esports Federation, addressed directly to the association’s president, Mr. Kwesi Hayford. A two-member delegation from Ghana will attend the global event, which is set to feature over 2,000 top-tier players and more than 200 professional clubs competing for a historic $70 million prize pool.
Describing the moment as a landmark achievement for the Ghanaian esports community, Mr. Hayford expressed his excitement:
“This is a monumental step for Ghanaian esports. Being recognized and invited to such a global event reaffirms the hard work we’ve put into building a sustainable and competitive ecosystem here in Ghana. We look forward to representing our community on the global stage.”

The invitation was co-signed by HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation, and Mr. Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF).
The Esports Association Ghana views the invitation as a recognition of the country’s growing presence in the international esports landscape and is calling on both public and private stakeholders to support its ongoing efforts to promote esports as a transformative opportunity for Ghanaian youth.

Founded in 2016, the Esports Association Ghana is a non-profit organisation that connects government, industry, and the gaming community to develop both amateur and professional esports. The association is a member of the Africa Electronic Sports Association, the Global Esports Federation, and the International Esports Federation.
