Renowned Ghanaian artist Bright Komla Kpoha, widely known as Realpen Pencil, has recently shared that achieving Facebook monetization has been one of his primary aspirations.

Known for his unique talent in drawing, Realpen Pencil has gained significant recognition and a growing following on social media platforms, particularly Facebook.

Realpen Pencil’s journey towards monetization began with his aspiration to get paid for the content he diligently creates and shares on Facebook. Last year, he achieved verification on the platform, amassing over ten thousand followers and receiving more than a million views on his content.

Currently, he has over 103, 000,000 fans on Facebook and TikTok, he has over 182,000 fans. Despite this success, he wondered why these milestones didn’t translate into financial rewards.

Reflecting on his journey, he said, “I manifested this last year. After I got my verification, I wondered why I was getting more followers and verification without any payment. I am glad Facebook monetization is now in Ghana.”

The Expansion of Facebook Monetization in Ghana

As of 2024, Facebook has expanded its monetization options to include Ghana, marking a significant shift for content creators and businesses in the country. Before this expansion, Ghanaians did not have the option to monetize Facebook pages and content directly.

To be eligible for Facebook monetization in Ghana, the following criteria must be met:

– You must be at least 18 years old and based in Ghana.

– Your Facebook account must be in good standing, with no monetization policy violations.

– Your content must adhere to Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies, ensuring it is original, high-quality, and compliant with Facebook’s community standards.

– Your Facebook page must have at least 10,000 followers to be eligible for in-stream ads.

About Realpen Pencil

Born on March 24, 1998, in Akatsi in the Volta region of Ghana, Bright Kpoha, known as Realpen Pencil, faced early hardships, losing his parents at the age of two and growing up in Lome, Togo. Despite these challenges, he discovered his talent for drawing at the age of seven, earning his nickname due to his unique style of drawing people with pens and pencils.

His drawing process is deeply personal and spiritual. He explains, “I connect my soul, heart, extra-eyes fixed and controllable invisible camera on the subject.”

Realpen Pencil’s talent earned him recognition during the 50th independence anniversary celebration of the Republic of Togo in 2010, where he was adjudged the best artist of the year. At the age of twelve, he participated in the National drawing competition in Togo, representing Ecole Marie Auxiliatrice d’Ablogame, and secured second place, impressively behind a 40-year-old man.

In 2012, he was invited by the Togolese president, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, after creating a beautiful portrait of him. Unfortunately, he could not meet the president due to a scheduling conflict.

Realpen Pencil relocated to Ghana in 2013, hoping to develop his talent further. Despite initial challenges, he eventually gained fame in 2017 by drawing the 100th Most Influential Celebrity Woman in the World, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, MFR. Since then, he has sketched over 100 celebrities and public figures across the continent who visit Ghana.

With Facebook monetization now within reach, Realpen Pencil is excited about the opportunities ahead and remains committed to creating captivating content for his growing audience.
