Addressing contractors working on the Ofankor-Nsawam highway at Medea, in the Ga West Municipal, Mr. Agbodza, who expressed his misgivings over the slow pace of work, urged them to stay the course, assuring them that the government is actively exploring alternative financing options to sustain road sector developments.
“We all listened to the outcome of the economic forum yesterday we are not in a good place financially despite that, we are committed to completing projects like this because it’s another priority project.
He continued “So we encourage the contractors and the consultant to continue to work to make sure that in the interval all this works continue. We will report back to the president on what we have seen and I know he’s working physically to make sure that we find we raise the necessary resources to actually retire the certificate of this contractor and other contractors working on our projects across the country”.
The 346.5 billion Ofankor-Nsawam expansion and rehabilitation project was initiated in 2022 and works was expected to completed by July 2024.
