The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has, with immediate effect, reshuffled key senior officers across major commands of the Ghana Police Service nationwide.
According to a letter from the IGP on Monday, February 2, 2026, the changes affect eleven officers, including Director Generals and Regional Commanders.
The reshuffle seeks to strengthen leadership and operational effectiveness within the service.
Key changes include:
- COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba moves from Director General of Technical Services to Director General of the National Anti-Policing Directorate (NAPD).
- COP Iddi Lansah Seidu, formerly Director General of Welfare, now takes over Technical Services.
- COP Dr. Vance Baba Gariba shifts from Director General of Operations to Director General of Recruitment and Promotions (R&P).
- COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe moves from Director General of PPSB to Director General of Operations.
- DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey becomes Director General of PPSB, replacing COP Teye-Cudjoe.
- DCOP Eric Ken Winful transitions from NAPD to Welfare.
- Regional Commander postings include DCOP Charles K. Adu moving from CR to ESR, DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi from ESR to CR, DCOP George Ankomah from Central MTTD/AR to ENR, and DCOP Isaac Asante relocating from ENR to National Headquarters.
- DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo now heads Central MTTD/AR as acting officer, moving from Director/ICT at National Headquarters.
The IGP’s directive emphasizes that the postings take effect immediately and requires all officers and units to comply.
The Ghana Police Service says the reshuffle aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure that leadership positions are occupied by officers best suited for the demands of their new roles.
