Lilwin‘s ‘A Country Called Ghana’ nominated for 2024 Nollywood Film Festival

Renowned Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, has garnered a prestigious nomination for his latest cinematic endeavor, “A Country Called Ghana.”

The film is set to be screened at the 2024 Nollywood Film Festival in Germany, a prominent event that celebrates the best of Nollywood and fosters international trade and cultural exchange.

Directed by Frank Fiifi Gharbin and produced by Lilwin, this Ghana-Nigeria collaboration showcases a rich tapestry of talents from both nations. The film features performances by acclaimed actors such as Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu (famously known as Awilo Sharp Sharp), Paa George, and Sweet Mimi, among others. “A Country Called Ghana” aims to captivate audiences while highlighting the significance of preserving cultural heritage.

Lilwin expressed his excitement over the nomination, stating, “This recognition is not just for me but for the entire team and our collaborative efforts to bridge Ghanaian and Nigerian cultures through film. We aspire to secure a spot on Netflix and achieve global recognition for our work.”

The nomination marks a significant milestone for the film as it eyes broader international acclaim. Scheduled for August 3, 2024, at GOETHE University’s Purple Cinema in Frankfurt AM Main, the Nollywood Film Festival/NEGA Awards Germany is an annual event that draws attention to Nollywood’s finest, presenting unique opportunities for international trade and cultural exchange.

Kwadwo Nkansah, widely celebrated for his versatility as an artiste, actor, and comedian, also serves as the founder and director of Great Minds International School in Kumasi and the CEO of Weezy Empire in Ghana’s Ashanti Region. His dedication to the arts and education highlights his multifaceted contributions to Ghanaian culture and beyond.

With the film’s nomination, Lilwin and his team look forward to showcasing their work on an international stage, further solidifying the importance of cultural preservation through cinematic storytelling.
