President John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra on Sunday, January 11, 2026, for official meetings in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
This was announced in a statement by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
According to him, the President’s first stop will be the United Kingdom, where he is scheduled to meet with coordinators of the Accra Reset Initiative, a strategic framework aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s economy and governance systems.
The initiative also forms part of a broader effort to rethink global governance and development from a Global South perspective.
Following his engagements in the UK, President Mahama will travel to Davos, Switzerland, to participate in the annual World Economic Forum.
The forum brings together world leaders, business executives, and policymakers to discuss pressing global economic and development challenges.
While in Davos, the President is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other world leaders, aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and exploring economic partnerships for Ghana.
The visit, according to the statement, reflects Ghana’s ongoing efforts to engage with global leaders and leverage international platforms for economic growth and strategic development.
