A man believed to be in his early 30s has beheaded his girlfriend over suspected cheating in Diaso, a town located in the Upper Denkyira West District in Central Region.
The incident occurred after the woman was caught having an affair with another man, GHOne TV’s Yaw Boagyan has gathered.
Following the heinous act, the alleged culprit reportedly fled the community. Residents say they last spotted the couple together at noon on January 9, 2025.
However, after a while of not hearing from her, the lady’s friends rushed to the boyfriend’s house to enquire about her whereabouts.
Upon arriving, they were horrified to find the deceased body of their friend soaked in a pool of blood from multiple knife stabs on her neck, lying on the floor.
The gruesome attack has heightened tensions in the Diaso community even as the police attempted to control the crowd that gathered at the scene.
The deceased is said to hail from the Northern Region and has been dating the alleged culprit for a year now.
Diaso has been in the news in recent times for crimes of murder. Last year, quite a number of people were reportedly murdered by unidentified perpetrators for ritual purposes.
This is the second time two ladies have been killed by their partners over alleged cheating in the region since the turn of the year.
The first incident happened at Awutu Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West District.
Meanwhile, police officers in Diaso have visited the scene and started an investigation into the issue.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Dunkwa On-Offin District Government Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
Police have yet to make arrests in relation to the development.
