The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed Julius Kwame Anthony as a Deputy Communications Director of the party, effective immediately.
The appointment was approved by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) at a meeting held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
In a press release signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC said the appointment forms part of efforts to strengthen its communications machinery and enhance public engagement.
The party said Mr Anthony’s appointment would help improve its capacity to communicate its policies, programmes and achievements, particularly those of the NDC-led government under President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the statement, Mr Anthony brings an understanding of communication and its strategic application to the role, which is expected to support the party’s efforts to communicate its vision and deepen public understanding of its policy direction.
The NDC expressed confidence that he would demonstrate dedication, professionalism and responsibility while working with the Communications Directorate and other relevant party structures to advance its communication objectives.
The party also urged print, electronic and digital media organisations, as well as other stakeholders, to take note of the appointment and accord Mr Anthony the necessary recognition in the discharge of his official duties.
It further identified Godwin Ako Gunn, Kakra Essamuah and Julius Kwame Anthony as the party’s official spokespersons and contact persons for matters concerning the NDC.
The Functional Executive Committee congratulated Mr Anthony on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.
