Samuel Binfo Darkwa has filed his nominations forms to contest incumbent Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa in the upcoming primaries of the NPP.

The former (NUGS) president was accompanied by delegates and other sympathizers of the party in a huge float amidst singING and drumming on principal streets of the Adansi Asokwa community through the party’s constituency office.

The forms were received by the chairman council of elders in the constituency, Nana Kwadwo Nkansah, who doubles as elections committee chairman, and the constituency secretary Kwame Awi in the presence of all the constituency executives.

The elections committee chairman after reading through the forms signed to confirm the Pentecost elder has met all the requirement in filling the forms with payment proof of filing fees.

Chairman of the constituency Kwame Owusu, commended the young politicians for the bold step taken to contest long-serving experience K.T Hammond in the primaries.
He, however, urged the aspirant and his supporters to conduct decent campaign provided they excel through the party’s vetting at the regional level.

“I will like to commend you for the brave step to contest K.T Hammond, I beg you and your supporters not to give us the constituency executives troubles in your campaign activities. The primaries are just internal exercise to elect PC for the party for the 2020 general elections. Please avoid character assassination style of campaigning because it can divide the party to the advantage of our mains opponent,’’ he pleaded.

The aspirants Sammy Binfo Darkwa in response promise to abide by the rules of the parliamentary primaries.

“Chairman, I Sammy Binfo Darkwa, won’t be the one to create problem in the constituency you can trust me for that. I will make sure no member from campaign do anything contrary to the rules set by the party for the parliamentary primaries,’’ he assured.

Delegates Press conference

About 300 delegates from the constituency after the filling of the nomination forms of spirants declared their support for Sammy Binfo Darkwa and pledged to campaign for him to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency.

Addressing the media at a news conference, Francis Quason the group leader said they share in the vision of the aspirant which they believe will restore the missing hope and link between the youth in the constituency and the party.
