The High Court in Accra has discharged Mildred Donkor, the 3rd accused person in the ongoing National Signals Bureau trial involving Kwabena Adu-Boahene, after the Attorney General withdrew charges against her.
This follows a notice filed by the Attorney General on October 16, 2025, formally discharging her under Section 59 of the Criminal and Other Offences (Procedure) Act, 1960 (Act 30).
In court on Friday, October 17, Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai prayed for her to be discharged.
Despite a preliminary legal objection and the subsequent dismissal from lawyers of Kwabena Adu-Boahene for a formal amendment of the charge sheet, the court said the AG’s notice of withdrawal satisfied the requirement.
Justice John Nyante Nyadu, the presiding judge, granted the prosecution’s request and discharged the third accused.
“The third accused is hereby discharged. Let the record (of the court) reflect the expunging of her name from all the court’s records as the third accused (Mildred Donkor),” the court ruled.
According to EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent, Murtala Inusah, this means that Mildred Donkor, who has since left the court, will no longer be prosecuted.
Per the decision, the former Director General of NSB, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, his wife, and Advantage Solution Limited are the remaining accused persons standing trial for the alleged misappropriation of GH¢49.1 million.
Currently, the second prosecution witness, Edith Ruby Opokua Adumoah, has mounted the witness box for the continuation of the trial.
