I salute you my Senior Comrades and Cadres of our great umbrella fraternity, I hope this letter finds you in peace.

With the greatest respect and much desire, I humbly appeal to you as the elders of our great party, the NDC to diligently exercise your discretion to make an impactful advice to His excellency John Dramani Mahama to select Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe as his running mate for our victory in the December general elections.

Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe is no doubt a formidable force and also the right person to partner His excellency John Dramani Mahama for our victory in the upcoming elections.

With all humility my Senior Comrades, I am not trying to dictate to you how you should discharge your duties or what kind of pronouncements you should make, but I am only concern about the road map to our victory in the December 7th elections.

My esteemed Men and Women of our party, respectfully, I come in peace as a grass-root of our party, I am a branch executive and a communicator for our party, and it is in this capacity I am humbly appealing to your conscience through this letter.

Furthermore, at this moment my Senior Comrades, the questions that could be begging for answers in your minds includes, what makes Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe a formidable force and also the right person for the running mate position?

To begin with, Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe is the only person that can reenergized and ignite the love of our party in our strongholds especially in the Volta region, where they will come out in their numbers to vote massively for our victory in the upcoming general elections. And respectfully, let’s not assume that the region has no large numbers as others are alluding to.

Notably, Voltarians are scattered across the length and breadth of this country especially in our big cities and towns, and that’s even accounting for the massive numbers we always win in most of these cities and towns. An example is our victory in the recent by-election at Assin North where we had an ewe dominated settlement within the constituency that voted massively for the NDC and eventually resulted to our victory in Assin North Constituency.

Additionally, with several decades of professional experience as an entrepreneur and technology guru, one cannot doubt, but affirm his achievements as a credible and capable businessman who has all it takes to partner John Mahama in order for them to deliver the victory we want come December 7th this year.

Mr. Leslie Tamakloe stands the chance of appealing to the floating voters across the length and breadth of this country and even attract people across the various political divide.

In fact, there are many names from the Akan dominated areas flying in the political and media spaces, but the unfortunate thing is that if John Mahama settles on one of them especially those names from Ashanti and Eastern regions then we are heading towards a disaster.

Respectfully, there’s no any tangible reason for the NDC to settle on a running mate from the Ashanti or even the Eastern regions, but for the NPP they have a reason because they are trying to mend a broken base/stronghold going into the upcoming general elections. What the NDC needs to do is to focus on our stronghold and hold it tight for it not to be broken like the NPP’s.

In recent times our numbers in the Volta region has been dwindling even to the extent the NPP now have a parliamentary seat in the region which hitherto could never have happened. So we desperately need to strengthen our stronghold going into the elections and do not mimic the NPP by choosing our running mate from the Ashanti region because for the NPP, choosing a running mate from there is the best and last option.

Finally, I therefore ceased this opportunity to call on you as the elders of our great party the National Democratic Congress NDC to also take the opportunity to add your voice in making Leslie Mensah Tamakloe the running mate to John Dramani Mahama for our victory in the upcoming general elections, for, there’s a saying in our local parlance that when an elder is in the house the grains will not be allowed to be soaked by the rains.
I humbly submit.
