Sarkodie, King Promise and Darko Vibes to perform at 2024 Paris Olympics Ghana Day Event

Celebrated Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has been confirmed as one of the Ghanaian musicians set to perform at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Initially, there was confusion regarding his participation in the opening ceremony of the Olympics. However, the French Embassy in Ghana has clarified that Sarkodie, alongside King Promise and Darkovibes, will be performing at a special Ghana Day event within the African Fan Zone on August 10.

“I am also happy to inform you that on the 10th of August, it will be a full day dedicated to Ghana. Many Ghanaian artists such as Sarkodie, King Promise, and Darkovibes will perform on the day,” a representative from the Embassy announced during a recent press conference.

The Paris Olympics opening ceremony, featuring artists like Celine Dion and Dua Lipa, will occur on July 26, separate from the Fan Zone events. This year’s ceremony promises a unique twist, taking place outside the stadium and being broadcast on public screens for wider audience access.

The confirmation of Sarkodie’s performance came after his personal Disc Jockey, DJ Mensah, revealed that the rapper would perform at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. DJ Mensah later clarified in a post on X that he only meant that Sarkodie was going to perform at an event at the Olympics, not at the opening ceremony itself.

King Promise and Darkovibes have been added to the list of performers for the African Fan Zone at the Olympics on August 10. The French Embassy in Ghana emphasized that the African Fan Zone would be a platform for many other Ghanaian artists to showcase their talents.

The opening ceremony of the Olympics is scheduled for July 26, 2024, in Paris, France, with the closing ceremony slated for August 11, 2024.
