The family of a 14-year-old class six pupil who has allegedly been raped by some four men in the area is appealing to the Ellembelle District Police and the Western regional Police command to get the victim justice by arresting the suspects.
The victim, a pupil of Asenda Basic School in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region who narrated her ordeal to Axim-based Ankobra FM said the men, aged between 17 and 35 gave her a drink suspected to have been mixed with an unknown substance when he attended a program at Bobrama, a town in the Ellembelle District on Monday January 15 .
According to her, she woke up the next morning outside their house in severe pains with blood stains all over her genital area. For fear of being reprimanded by her mother, she reported the incident to a friend of her mother who later reported the incident to the Police with her mother.
The mother of the victim, whose name was only given as Maa Gifty, indicated that parents of three of the suspects in the evening of Monday January 22, visited her family to resolve the issue amicably but their plea was rejected explaining that she further directed the parents of the three to come with the 35-year-old suspect who is alleged to have masterminded the act, before any further decision would be made.
Mother of the Victim also alleged that the hospital where she initially took her daughter demanded GHC200 from her before tests could be done on her.
Although the incident has since been reported to the police, they are yet to effect any arrest.
