A Director of Communication aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has denied that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) discussed the misappropriation of an amount of GHC 55 million with him and his lawyers during his recent detention by the stateinstitution.
The former Director of Communication for the Bawumia campaign team in a statement issued on Wednesday, 15th July, 2026 Aboagye, described his detention as an attempt to intimidate and silence him.
“For the records: There was no discussion of any GHC 55 million cedis with me by EOCO. None!!!” he stated emphatically.
Aboagye was picked up by EOCO operatives four days ago, triggering widespread protests and solidarity actions from party faithful across the country. He expressed deep appreciation to supporters who took to the streets in his defence.
“You did not just defend Dennis Miracles Aboagye; you defended the principle that no voice can be intimidated into silence,” he said.
Reaffirming his resolve, the outspoken communicator declared he remains undeterred by the ordeal.
“I AM OUT. I AM UNBROKEN. AND I AM MORE READY THAN EVER,” Aboagye asserted. “If the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly.”
He pledged to bring renewed energy and strategic direction to the NPP’s communications machinery, stating that the experience has only strengthened his commitment.
“Fuel has only been added to fire. I will lead New Patriotic Party’s communications Directorate to command the narrative, and no cell, no false story, no intimidation will change that.”
Aboagye also extended gratitude to his legal team, party leadership, and all supporters who stood by him, describing the journey ahead as a collective one.
“This journey is no longer mine alone. It is ours. We move. Stronger. Louder. Together.”
