Deontay ‘Bronze Bomber’ Wilder succumbed to yet another defeat from Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night in a WBC Heavyweight bout.
Tyson Fury completed the trilogy bout in grand style after his decisive punch in the 11th round sent Deontay Wilder crawling in the ring at the T Mobile Arena. The World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight title finally looked to be cemented by Tyson Fury for at least the next few months as Wilder will have no excuse this time around.
The American boxer, Wilder referred to his costume as heavy, which weakened his legs after his previous defeat to Tyson Fury in February 2020. This time around he wore a red robe and a red mask during his entrance.
It was Wilder who looked more determined in the early stages of the bout but anytime a Fury punch landed on Wilder’s body, it asked some difficult questions which was almost unanswerable. Fury survived two knockdowns in the fourth round and took advantage of his giant stature to oppress Wilder with hard punches.
Until the 10th round, both fighters looked exhausted but their punches didn’t. It was clear they were seeking for that heavy punch that could end the bout. While Fury stood his grounds with dangerous jabs combined with well calculated uppercuts, Fury’s advantage was the power of his punches. His left jabs obviously injected some fears in the fans of Deontay Wilder.
Wilder’s downfall was glaring once he began to miss vital punches. Fury capitalized on that to land counter punches. A strategy he deployed during the previous victory he had against the same opponent. One of those sent Wilder to the ground. However, Wilder’s recovery style in this bout was outstanding. He got back on his feet twice in time to land a few punches.
In the 11th round, both fighters started aggressively with an aim of throwing straight punches. Wilder’s punches were however not wild enough as well as his defensive abilities. Fury landed a staggering oriented punch and followed with another hook which laid Wilder on the ground again.
The referee went ahead to lift the hands of the gypsy king signaling his second knockout win over Wilder and 31st victory in his professional career.
