The transport fare increase announced by VIP Jeoun Transport Company has not yet taken effect, despite the company’s earlier indication that new fares would begin today, Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The company had announced an upward adjustment of between 15% and 25% across all its routes.
However, checks by GHOne TV at its terminal at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange show that passengers are still being charged the existing fares.
According to reports, the increment has not been implemented as stated, leaving commuters continuing to pay the old prices.
Meanwhile, the situation at the terminal attracted attention as the Chief of the Defence Staff, William Agyepong, arrived with his entourage and entered into a meeting with the management of the transport company. The purpose of the meeting remains unclear.
Passengers are currently unaffected by the announced increment as monitoring continues at the terminal.
