The Ghana Police Service has arrested the General Overseer of Elohim International Ministry, William Gyimah, for allegedly issuing death threats against the Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, in a viral video.
According to a statement from the Police, the arrest was carried out by the IGP’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) during a targeted operation in Kasoa in the Central Region on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
The Police said the 49-year-old suspect was picked up after social media monitoring flagged a viral video circulating on platforms such as TikTok, in which he allegedly made the threats.
“The arrest follows CVET’s proactive social media monitoring, which intercepted a high-priority viral video on TikTok and other platforms featuring the suspect issuing the threat,” the statement noted.

The suspect has since been handed over to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.
The Police Administration cautioned the public and media houses against using their platforms to incite trouble or spread content that could threaten national peace.
“The Police Administration wishes to strongly caution the public and media houses against using their platforms to foment trouble or disseminate content that threatens the peace and security of the State,” the statement added.
The Police say investigations are ongoing and assured that further updates will be communicated to the public.
