Ghana’s Black Queens management member, Roy Arthur, is optimistic the senior Women’s national team will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be hosted by France.
According to the youngest football administrator, despite the team’s humiliating 0-8 defeat to France in an international friendly on Monday he remains confident of Ghana’s qualification.
“We are going to host CAN 2018 in Ghana and so it important to play some of this high level matches so that you are athletically as good as possible before 2018.
“We are very confident that Ghana will be present in 2019 to showpiece our skills once again on the World stage”, he told Starr Sports from his Italy base.
The Black Queens had missed out on the last two editions of the competition hosted in Canada (2011) and Germany (2015) having made their last appearance back in 2007.
Ghana must win or finish as the first runner-up in next year’s Africa Women’s Championship to enable them book a spot at the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
