Members of the National Association of Hygiene Students will embark on a demonstration today, November 28, 2017 in protest against government’s refusal to restore their training allowance.
The students are accusing the Akufo-Addo-led government of sidelining them after the restoration of allowances of other professions such as nurses, midwives, and allied health trainees.
The group, in an earlier statement, indicated that several attempts by student leadership from the Ho, Tamale and Accra campuses to engage the sector ministry as well as the presidency on the matter, have yielded no result.
The students added that they will follow the demonstration up with a sit-down strike if government fails to resolve the issue.
