The Palace of Nandom Naa has announced the death of Mr. David Chemogoh Aasonaa Delle, Regent of the Nandom Traditional Council, who passed away at the age of 81.
Mr. Delle transitioned peacefully at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Thursday, 24 September 2026, after a short illness, according to a press release issued by the Palace on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
Described as a distinguished custodian of Nandom customs and a pillar of the traditional area, the late Regent served with unwavering dedication, wisdom, humility and integrity.
His death has been described as a monumental and irreparable loss to the Royal Family, the Traditional Council and the entire Nandom Traditional Area.
His Royal Majesty, Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, Nandom Naa and Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Council, together with the Royal Family and the Traditional Council, has extended heartfelt condolences to all mourning the loss.
A press release was issued by Okyeame Frempa Taatuo, Relations Officer of the Office of Nandom Naa, on behalf of His Royal Majesty Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII communicated that funeral and burial arrangements will be announced in due course in accordance with custom and tradition.
The Palace has appealed to the general public to observe the mourning period and to remember the bereaved family and the people of Nandom in their prayers.
“May his noble and gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.
