The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye has said after extensive consultation he has decided not to be part of the party’s upcoming special delegates congress.

In a letter dated August 20, 2023, the Bono regional chairman catalogued a number of reasons he wants to abstained from the congress including alleged extortion of money.

“I’ve never solicited any money from any of the aspirants just to campaign for him or her.

“All constituency Chairmen and their Executives, including polling station executive in their Bono Region, would testify that I have never engaged them to campaign for a particular candidate.” Mr. Abronye stated.

He continued: “Therefore, the said presidential aspirant spokesperson and his colleagues’ campaign coordinators who want to hijack the party, including other twin regions are lying.”
