FC Samartex have been crowned champions of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after securing their victory with a 2-0 win over Accra Lions at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday.
A goal in each half from Emmanuel Mamah and Ebenezer Ocran ensured the Timbers celebrated their coronation with a final-day win.
The New champions broke the deadlock in just three minutes with Mamah’s deflected shot, aiming past Lions goalkeeper Daniel Afful.

Samartex’s victory means they will represent Ghana in the 2024-25 CAF Champions League season.
Meanwhile, Accra Great Olympics experienced relief when Real Tamale United (RTU), already relegated, did not attend their final match against Accra-based team.
Olympics were granted maximum points for the game and temporarily lifted them above the relegation zone.
However, Heart of Lions secured a 2-2 draw, ensuring survival, while Karela United shocked Medeama with a narrow victory, bringing them to 12th place in the table.
Great Olympics, RTU, and Boafoakwa Tano have been relegated, while Hearts of Oak narrowly escaped relegation with a tight win over Bechem United.
Great Olympics after spending eight years in the Premier League, will now battle their way back to the top flight.
