The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed its appreciation for the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, lauding his exceptional leadership in the conduct of parliamentary affairs. In a statement released today, the NDC described Speaker Bagbin’s handling of parliamentary proceedings as a “masterclass” in mature leadership, citing his commitment to upholding the integrity of Parliament and serving the interests of the people of Ghana.
“We applaud him for working in the interest of Parliament and the people of Ghana, and enhancing the integrity of Parliament with his leadership,” the statement read. The party further expressed confidence in Speaker Bagbin’s ability to maintain the independence of parliamentary processes, stressing that Parliament must continue to prioritize the people’s welfare over partisan interests.
In addition to commending the Speaker, the NDC also praised its Majority Caucus in Parliament for their unwavering determination. Their steadfastness, the party noted, inspires confidence in their commitment to resisting any form of oppressive rule and reinforcing the notion that power ultimately resides with the people.
The statement, signed by NDC General Secretary Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, reiterated the party’s resolve to uphold democratic principles and work towards a brighter future for all citizens of Ghana.
