The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on its supporters and sympathizers to halt any celebrations ahead of the official declaration of the 2024 election results by the Electoral Commission (EC).
This warning comes after NDC supporters started jubilating prematurely, anticipating a victory before the Electoral Commission’s official declaration.
Speaking media, the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, emphasised the importance of waiting for the official results.
He urged the party’s supporters to refrain from jubilating until the results are officially collated, declared, and certified by the EC.
He stated that supporters should only celebrate after the results have been duly collated, declared at the constituency collation centers, and signed by party agents.
” We want all of us to stop the jubilation until the results are duly collated, declared at the constituency collation centres, the results are the constituency are duly filed and signed by the various party collations agents and our agents are given his or her copy, you don’t jubilate. You only jubilate after the results have been declared, agents have signed or better till our agents have had the official certified of the lection by the electoral commission at the constituency,” Gyamfi stated.
While the NDC remains confident of its victory, Gyamfi reminded supporters that it is crucial to respect the process and wait for the official declaration by the Electoral Commission.
