Born and raised in the bustling suburb of Kwashiman in Accra, PapaYaw Agyekum Denteh’s journey to becoming a celebrated TV and radio presenter is a tale of discipline, passion, and determination. Krakye a name known in the entertainment space is the fourth of five siblings in a wealthy but strict Christian household, Krakye was no stranger to hard work. Despite his privileged upbringing, he was taught to earn his achievements through effort and dedication—values that have shaped his impressive career.
His love for broadcasting began serendipitously in the fifth grade at Crown Prince Academy during a school trip to TV3. Witnessing news anchor Emma Morrison in action ignited a spark that would fuel his aspirations for years to come. Inspired by Morrison’s poise and professionalism, Krakye knew he had found his calling.
Education and Early Career Struggles
Krakye’s academic path laid a strong foundation for his career. After completing his studies at Legon PRESEC, he pursued Broadcast Journalism at Central University, where he also graduated with a degree in Business and Management Studies.
His first steps into the media industry were anything but smooth. Starting with a role in the Ghanaian series Form 3D, Krakye collaborated with industry veterans like Paulina Oduro and the late Rev. Eddie Koffie. This experience led to his co-creation of Hi Skul Links TV, a show aired on TV Africa. Despite these early successes, live productions such as TV3 Talented Kidz, where he worked as a production assistant, posed new challenges. “Everything was new to me, and I must be honest, I made lots of mistakes but quickly learned from them,” Krakye admits.
Memorable Career Milestones
Krakye’s career highlights include co-hosting the morning show LBC on Live 91.9 FM and creating the entertainment show Twitch TV, which aired on multiple platforms. His versatility shines through his work as a healthcare practitioner certified in the UK and his recent ventures as a hypeman, hosting major events like Guinness Accravaganza.
Through his career, Krakye has interviewed an array of notable personalities, including former President J.A. Kufuor, musicians MzVee and Medikal, and film stars like Patience Ozorkor and Yvonne Okoro. Reflecting on these moments, he says, “It’s always a privilege to share conversations with individuals who inspire so many.”

While the spotlight can be demanding, Krakye values the balance between his public and private life. “I designate specific times for public engagements and protect private time for myself and loved ones,” he explains. His family’s initial skepticism about his career choice gave way to support as they witnessed his passion and dedication.
