Inspire Today is a dynamic network organization dedicated to fostering a nationwide movement of female leaders, working tirelessly toward the achievement of the UN Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and 5 (Gender Equality). Since its establishment in 2019, Inspire Today, with the support of both individual and corporate partners, has directly impacted over 54,000 girls across Ghana. Through this initiative, the organization has provided essential products like sanitary pads, reading materials, bathing soap, deodorants, underpants, and other personal hygiene items to girls in public and private schools across five regions of the country.
A key initiative of Inspire Today, HOPE FOR GIRLS, is a publication designed specifically to support young menstruating girls. It serves as a vital resource for addressing the many challenges these girls face, such as managing menstruation, handling peer pressure, and dealing with the complexities of growing up. The book combines stories, feature articles, and devotionals that are meant to educate, inspire, and offer practical advice. Written in simple, straightforward English, the content is easy for girls with a range of educational backgrounds, including those with limited primary or junior high school education, to understand. The publication itself is designed to be both colorful and engaging, with illustrations and photographs that make it inviting, ensuring that it becomes a cherished keepsake for its readers.
The primary goal of HOPE FOR GIRLS is to offer hope and encouragement to vulnerable girls, providing them with the support and information they need during critical times. This publication allows Inspire Today to expand its reach, enabling the organization to touch more lives beyond the scope of its direct physical programs. It features personal stories, candid answers to tough questions, and insights grounded in biblical wisdom—giving young girls the tools to navigate difficult situations with strength and faith. In addition, the book highlights Inspire Today’s ongoing work with girls and the milestones the organization has achieved over the years.
To further this important work, Inspire Today has partnered with EIB Network, a collaboration aimed at increasing awareness of the HOPE FOR GIRLS publication and raising the necessary funds to print 50,000 copies. These copies will be distributed for free, with a special focus on reaching girls in underserved and deprived communities. The partnership also includes efforts to instill a culture of reading among schoolchildren, as Inspire Today will host a reading and writing contest centered on the book.
Founder of Inspire Today, Etornam Sey, expressed her deep gratitude to EIB Network for their unwavering support and commitment to the project. She emphasized how much this partnership means to the organization and to the girls it serves. “This collaboration with EIB Network is incredibly meaningful to us,” said Etornam Sey. “Their support strengthens our mission and our ability to reach more girls in need. I encourage individuals, corporate organizations, and government bodies—including the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Gender—to join us in helping to spread hope to young girls across Ghana through the HOPE FOR GIRLS publication.”
