Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has announced that the oxygen plant at the 37 Military Hospital is now fully operational, marking a significant boost to healthcare delivery at the facility.
The new equipment has been procured and installed, ensuring that oxygen production and supply are stable and sufficient for both the hospital and ambulance services.
The Minister noted that this development, reflects President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to enhancing human security as part of his broader mission to reset Ghana.

“I’m excited to announce that we have resolved the issue thanks to our proactive measures. There will be no bad news,” Dr. Omane Boamah stated in a Facebook post.
“We remain committed to addressing challenges head-on, including those stemming from the mismanaged economy,” he added.
Background
During a recent working visit to the hospital, the Defence Minister discovered that the facility’s oxygen plant was out of service, jeopardizing the supply of vital medical oxygen to surgical theatres, Intensive Care Units, various wards, and the National Ambulance Service.
As a medical doctor, the Minister promptly took action. In response to the critical situation, the President directed the Ministry of Defence to work with the National Security Coordinator to resolve the issue and prevent further complications.
The restoration of the oxygen plant aligns with the Mahama administration’s continued efforts to strengthen the nation’s healthcare system and safeguard the well-being of its citizens.
