The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has issued a renewed ultimatum to the government, demanding full implementation of their conditions of service by the end of July 2025 or risk facing industrial action.
The warning follows what the Association described as the unilateral suspension of a scheduled meeting involving government representatives, the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, and GRNMA leadership.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, June 26, 2025, GRNMA President, Perpetual Ofori Ampofo, expressed frustration over the delay in addressing their longstanding demands.
She described the rescheduling of the meeting as an act of bad faith, warning that any further delay would not be tolerated.
“The rescheduling of the meeting in our view is in bad faith since it may further delay the implementation of the agreed items. We have, however, decided to give the committee the benefit of hindsight and so trust that their engagement with the ministries of health and finance will be productive,” Madam Ampofo stated.
She added that the Association expects the government to fully implement all four agreed items no later than July 2025.

“We demand implementation of the four agreed items not later than July 2025. This is non-negotiable and we shall advise ourselves if any attempt is made to further delay the implementation,” she cautioned.
The GRNMA says it remains committed to dialogue but insists that its members will not hesitate to take action if the government fails to deliver on its promises.
