A leading member of Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has urged Ghanaian politicians to prioritise national interest over partisanship, warning that the failure of President John Dramani Mahama would be a collective national failure.
Speaking on Starr FM’s The Verdict with Isaac Addae on Tuesday, July 22, Mr Owusu stated that the success or failure of the current government should matter to every Ghanaian, regardless of political affiliation.
“It will not serve my interest or your interest or that of Mordecai if President Mahama fails,” he said. “If Mahama fails, we all have failed.”
He emphasised that criticism of leadership must be constructive and aimed at national progress, not political gain.
“They [leaders] must be ready for criticism, not just criticism for its sake, because once they take it in good faith, it will shape the country for all of us, not for a particular party.”
