Born and raised in Ghana, Afari-Boateng began his professional journey in the field of data collection, contributing to traffic assessment studies with Delin Consult. From there, he transitioned into corporate administration at PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana (PwC Ghana), where he supported clients with regulatory compliance and tax advisory services.
These early roles sharpened his analytical skills and introduced him to the intricacies of business operations.
His pivot into engineering came through NCR Ghana, where he served as Acting Solutions Delivery Officer, bridging technical and commercial teams. That experience laid the foundation for his entry into the industrial sector, joining thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions in Johannesburg as a Strategy, Markets & Development Intern.
There, he conducted market research and identified engineering partnership opportunities across the African region.

Afari-Boateng’s impact deepened when he returned to Ghana to lead spare parts sales and branch administration for thyssenkrupp’s West Africa operations. Within a year, he had significantly expanded client engagement and streamlined service delivery.
His success led to his appointment as Regional Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, where he oversaw technical services for dozens of industrial sites and launched new regional initiatives, solidifying his reputation as a trusted leader in industrial services.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Afari-Boateng is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of STEM professionals. He has guided numerous students in applying their technical skills to real-world business challenges, helping them transition successfully into industry roles. His mentorship emphasizes not just technical fluency, but also the importance of strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement.

He also serves as a selection panellist and judge for the Industry Immersion Africa (iiAfrica) program, a prestigious initiative that connects top STEM graduates with leading companies across the continent.
