DIVA’s Care Foundation, in partnership with DC Hospital, has organised a free community health screening exercise at Weija SCC, offering essential medical services to more than 100 residents. The event forms part of a broader effort to expand access to primary healthcare and encourage preventive health practices within the community.
Held over the weekend, the outreach provided free screening for malaria, hepatitis, blood pressure and general wellness. Medical staff from DC Hospital, supported by volunteers from the foundation, attended to residents throughout the day, offering consultations and providing professional guidance based on screening results.
Organisers noted that the exercise was designed to help residents detect potential health concerns early and to promote a culture of routine health checks. They described the strong turnout as a clear indication of the community’s need for accessible and affordable healthcare services.
Residents expressed appreciation to both DIVA’s Care Foundation and DC Hospital for bringing the services closer to them. Many participants said the exercise provided valuable insights into their health status and encouraged them to take proactive steps toward maintaining their well-being.
