The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) will launch a major continent-wide mobilisation campaign aimed at securing more than 10 million signatures in support of a borderless Africa during its flagship Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) scheduled for February 2026.

The initiative, themed, “Make Africa Borderless Now!”, will be unveiled at the Accra International Conference Centre from February 4-6, 2026. The event will be hosted by Ghana’s President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and will mark a shift from policy dialogue to a mass civic movement advocating for deeper continental integration.

APN said the year-long campaign will push African leaders to fully implement African Union protocols and AfCFTA-enabling instruments already adopted at continental level. The signatures will be presented to Heads of State at the 40th African Union Summit in February 2027.

A dedicated Africa Without Borders Desk has been set up at the APN Secretariat in Accra to coordinate the mobilisation, which has already attracted significant interest from multilateral organisations, industrialists, creatives, Pan-African influencers and youth groups.

Renowned Kenyan Pan-Africanist and legal scholar Professor PLO Lumumba is expected to deliver the keynote address at the launch, which will take place in the nearly 3,000-seat conference venue.

Explaining the motivation behind the drive, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Founder and Executive Chairman of APN, said the petition demands that African leaders demonstrate the political will to act on commitments they have already signed.

“Our goal is to send a strong delegation to the African Union to present 10 million signatures and say: ‘Your people want a borderless Africa, simply by implementing what you have already agreed to do,’” he stated.

The campaign also seeks to empower small and medium enterprises, women and youth entrepreneurs by promoting free movement of people, goods, capital and services.

“If over 80% of unemployment and business activities in Africa come from SMEs, then the best way to empower them is to implement the treaties and protocols that our Heads of State have already signed,” Otchere-Darko added.

Ashley Asenso, APN’s Head of Partnerships & Sponsorships, noted that the effort focuses on key single-market enablers such as visa-free travel for Africans, full implementation of the Single African Air Transport Market, and mobile money interoperability to facilitate cross-border trade.

APN CEO, Sidig Eltoum, emphasised that removing physical, financial and digital barriers would unlock opportunities for the continent’s largely youthful population.

The campaign’s 10-point agenda will be formally presented during the three-day dialogues, where delegates will also contribute to the discussions.

APN is inviting Africans across the continent and the diaspora, as well as supporters of regional integration, to participate in APD 2026 and join the movement.
