Former Deputy Minister of Information and former Member of Parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has questioned the impact of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s economic policies on the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.
Speaking on The Verdict on Starr 103.5 FM on Tuesday, Mr. Tetteh, who is currently aspiring for the position of a General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), argued that despite claims by the government that the economy is performing well, many Ghanaians are yet to experience any meaningful improvement in their living conditions.
According to him, the true measure of economic success should be reflected in the daily lives of citizens rather than in statistics and government pronouncements.
“The aggregate of what the NDC is doing should reflect in the life of the ordinary Ghanaian,” he stated.
Mr. Tetteh maintained that while government officials continue to highlight economic achievements, many citizens are still struggling with the cost of living and other economic challenges.
He stressed that economic growth and policy interventions must translate into tangible benefits for the average Ghanaian, including improved livelihoods, job opportunities, and greater purchasing power.
