Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodio, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has announced his resignation as the National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to contest a national leadership role within the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The seasoned politician in a formal statetement announcing his resignation reflected on his tenure and expressed deep appreciation for the trust placed in him by President John Dramani Mahama.
“After careful reflection, I have taken the decision to step down from my position as National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
“It has been a great honour and privilege to serve His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana in this role. I am deeply grateful for the confidence reposed in me and for the opportunity to contribute to a programme that is transforming local infrastructure and improving lives across our communities.”he said.
Vanderpuye clarified that his departure is motivated by a desire to take on greater responsibilities within the NDC.
“My resignation is to enable me pursue a National Executive position within our great party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC),” he explained. “This decision is driven by my desire to continue serving our party and country in a different capacity, while contributing to the strengthening of our democratic traditions and institutions.”
Despite leaving his current post, Vanderpuye emphasized that his loyalty to the government of President Mahama remains unwavering.
“I remain fully committed to the vision of President Mahama, the success of his administration, and the ideals of the NDC,” he noted.
The former Law Maker also expressed optimism regarding the continued success of the infrastructure program he spearheaded.
“I leave office with immense gratitude, proud of the work we have accomplished together and optimistic about the future of DRIP,” he said.
Vanderpuye ended his message with a call for national unity, stating, “May God continue to bless Ghana and guide us all in our collective service to the nation.”
