Ghanaian gospel musician and visionary of the Tahilla Experience, Ohemaa Mercy, has stressed that not every gospel artiste should be regarded as a minister, urging those who believe they have been called into ministry to understand their specific assignment.

She said being a gospel musician does not automatically mean an individual has been called into ministry, insisting that those who have received a divine calling must be intentional about understanding what God has entrusted to them.

Speaking to Austin Woode on Starr FM, Ohemaa Mercy said ministers must recognise that their calling may come with specific responsibilities, audiences and platforms.

“It’s not every gospel artist that is a minister,” she said.

According to her, the distinction can be identified through the fruit and impact of a person’s work, as well as the nature of the calling upon their life.

“By their fruits you will see, So if you have the calling of God, and it is not everybody that you are being called for specifically,” she explained.

Ohemaa Mercy said people who genuinely understand where God is taking them must also understand what they represent and be careful about the platforms they choose.

“If you know where God is taking you and what is on your head, it is not everything that you represent,” she said.

She added that there are specific assignments that God may give an individual, making it necessary for them to exercise caution about where they go and how they present themselves.

“There are some specific things, assignments, and things that the Lord has given you, and you need to be careful where you go to, what you present. How you even present yourself ,” she said.

The gospel musician maintained that a Christian’s calling should be reflected not only during church programmes or on stage but also in their everyday lifestyle.

“Christian, wherever you go, whether at your workplace, wherever you are, every bit of your lifestyle needs to exhibit what you carry,” she added.
