The University of Ghana (UG) has postponed the reopening date for the 2026/2027 academic year, which was initially scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026, due to the ongoing strike by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).
In a notice issued on Saturday, October 10, the University’s Management said a new date for reopening would be announced in due course.
Management apologised for any inconvenience the postponement may cause and appealed to students to exercise patience and understanding as arrangements are made for the reopening.
Meanwhile, students have been urged to complete their academic registration online in accordance with procedures outlined in an earlier communication from the University.

According to the notice, completing the registration process will secure students’ places for classes and ensure their eligibility to participate in the upcoming random bed allocation exercise.
