Ghanaian mining and construction company Engineers & Planners (E&P) has been confirmed as a sponsor of the African Minerals Policy Forum – Mining in Motion 2026 (AMPF–MiM 2026), scheduled for October 19 to 21 at the Destiny Arena in Accra.
The company’s participation is expected to contribute to discussions on regional policy coordination, local participation, mineral beneficiation and infrastructure development across Africa’s mining sector.
With more than 25 years of experience in mining and infrastructure projects in Ghana and Liberia, E&P operates as both a mining services provider and mine operator, aligning with efforts to strengthen African ownership and participation in the development of the continent’s mineral resources.

In April 2026, the company was awarded the licence to operate the Damang Gold Mine after meeting the technical, safety and local-content requirements of the selection process.
E&P demonstrated access to $505 million in financing, exceeding the $500 million threshold required during the bidding process.
The milestone highlights the growing capacity of African-owned companies to mobilise capital and technical expertise for large-scale mining operations.
The company has also contributed to Ghana’s efforts to retain more value from its mineral resources. In May 2026, E&P sold approximately 121 kilogrammes of gold to the Ghana Gold Board, followed by a second sale of a similar quantity.
The transactions supported national efforts to strengthen formal gold trading, domestic value retention and gold reserves.
Earlier in the year, E&P announced a $250 million investment in a major mining equipment fleet, including 30 semi-knockdown dump trucks at its operational base in Tarkwa.
The investment is expected to strengthen the company’s operational capacity and support the development of Ghana’s indigenous mining services and equipment sector.
At AMPF–MiM 2026, E&P’s leadership is expected to participate in high-level discussions on developments in Africa’s gold sector and opportunities for African companies to expand their roles in mining investment, operations and value creation.
The company is also expected to share insights into its investment strategy and approach to advancing local participation, domestic capacity and sustainable industry growth.
The forum will bring together African governments, investors and industry leaders to explore ways of moving the continent’s mining sector beyond resource extraction towards greater ownership, mineral beneficiation and industrial development.
The event comes as Ghana prepares for President John Dramani Mahama’s anticipated chairmanship of the African Union in 2027, providing a platform for discussions on minerals, industrialisation and regional economic integration.

AMPF–MiM 2026 is being convened under the leadership and patronage of the Ashanti Royal Family, with the Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, serving as a principal convening partner.
His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene and King of the Ashanti Kingdom, is the patron of the forum.
