Two Police officers at Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central region have been arrested for raiding a mining site.
The two are Corporal Isaac Kumar and Omar Daniel.
The officers are set to be handed over to the Manso Nkwanta division of the police service in the Ashanti region.
This is because the site they raided is within the Ashanti region, even though it is very close to Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central region.
The police officers who went to the galamsey site with two other civilians, according to the Dunkwa District police Commander ASP Dela Dzensi, were fully armed and attempted to steal an unspecified amount of cash and gold from the site.
The workers at the site, he added, battled with them for a while before the police got to the scene after a distress call was made to them.
