Accra’s furniture and interior design industry is set for a major boost with the opening of what is being billed as Africa’s largest furniture showroom in the capital.
The new facility, developed by BG Furnishings, will be launched on Monday, September 29, and is expected to provide Ghanaians with direct access to premium-quality home and office furniture that previously had to be sourced from overseas.
At a media briefing on Thursday, September 25, the lead organiser, Mr. Gold Huang of BG Furnishings, explained that the showroom goes beyond retail, with a vision to create jobs and inspire entrepreneurship in the sector.
“The opening of BG Furnishings will cut down trips to China and Europe just to buy furniture,” Mr. Huang said. “We are offering top-quality products for homes and offices. Customers can save airfares and shipping costs by finding everything they need right here in Accra.”
He added that the company hopes to attract young job seekers, particularly the unemployed within the Greater Accra Region, to explore opportunities in the furnishing and interior solutions industry.
According to Mr. Huang, the installation of the showroom was handled by Chinese craftsmen, with warranties provided on all products purchased.

BG Furnishings specialises in luxury furniture, kitchen sets, customised spaces, and other high-end interior solutions. The company says the new showroom is not only a commercial venture but also a contribution to Ghana’s efforts to promote employment and skills development.
